5 steps

How it works

Step 1

Product infeed

After being counted and then straightened in the cross conveyor, the first products enter the Box Loader.

Step 2

Products measured

The average height of the load is continuously measured. Based on these data, the upper drop system is controlled, so the products will be brought down gently and the falling height is minimized.

Step 3

Box loading

When the first complete batch is placed into the hopper of the loading system, the hopper gently moves down to assure the products have a minimal falling height while being loaded into the box. To achieve the maximum filling capacity, the system is equipped with two hopper systems. While the lower is filling the box, the upper hopper already picks up the next batch of products.

Step 4

Box transfer

After being filled, the box will leave the Box Loader and is transferred to the next part of the packaging line.

Step 5

Box filled

The first box is now correctly filled. Steps one to four are repeated until all your products are boxed.

Frequently Asked Questions Box Loader

Which products can be packed with the Box Loader?
The Box Loader is designed for small bulk products and baguette-type products. It can handle both randomly fed bulk products and oriented products such as full, demi and half baguettes. Long products baked on flat trays or products with inconsistent shapes may require individual assessment by Niverplast.
How does the Box Loader handle fragile products?
The Box Loader is designed to minimize drop height and handle products gently. Products are built up layer by layer in a buffer system, using continuous height measurements. Once the complete layer is ready, the full product batch is placed into the box in one controlled movement. If the products are extremely fragile, other Niverplast solutions may be more suitable for filling the box, such as the Donny or the HolyCrab.
What packing patterns does the Box Loader support?
The standard packing patterns are Bulk, Full and Demi. With the optional Half configuration, the Box Loader can also place two rows of products directly behind each other in the box, for example two half baguettes.
What is the difference between Bulk, Full, Demi and Half loading?
Bulk loading is used when product position in the box is not important. Full loading is used for whole products, such as full baguettes, placed lengthwise in the box. Demi loading is used for shorter products that require a 90-degree box orientation. Half loading is an optional configuration that places two products directly behind each other in the box.
What capacity can the Box Loader reach?
The capacity depends on the product type, packing pattern, product dimensions and line configuration. For Bulk and Demi applications, the Box Loader can reach up to 10 boxes per minute. For the Half option, the capacity can reach up to 8,000 products per hour and up to 5 boxes per minute.
What product feed requirements apply to the Box Loader?
The product flow must be linear, with the long side leading. The standard maximum number of tracks is four. Only one product row may fall onto the cross conveyor at a time, and the maximum alignment deviation for products is 20 degrees.
What equipment is required upstream of the Box Loader?
A SpeedBatcher and a batch product conveyor with valves must be installed upstream of the Box Loader. This ensures a correct and stable product feed before the products enter the Box Loader.
What box dimensions can the Box Loader handle?
The Box Loader can handle boxes with a length from 300 to 600 mm, a width from 200 to 400 mm and a height from 80 to 350 mm. The maximum total box height is 550 mm.
How does the optional Half configuration work?
With the Half option, the product buffer is divided into two compartments using a partition. The compartments are filled sequentially. Once both compartments are filled, the complete product batch is deposited into the box in one controlled movement.
Which product dimensions are suitable for Bulk loading?
For Bulk loading, products can range from 30 to 130 mm in length, 30 to 130 mm in width and 20 to 130 mm in height. This mode is suitable for small products where the exact position in the box is not important.
Which product dimensions are suitable for Full loading?
For Full loading, products can range from 260 to 590 mm in length, 20 to 100 mm in width and 20 to 130 mm in height. This mode is mainly intended for whole, recognizable products such as full baguettes.
Which product dimensions are suitable for Demi loading?
For Demi loading, products can range from 260 to 390 mm in length, with a width of 100 mm and a height from 20 to 130 mm. This configuration is used when the product needs to be placed across the width of the box.
Which certification requirements can the Box Loader meet?
The Box Loader is supplied with CE certification as standard. For projects in North America, UL certification for the USA and cULus certification for Canada can be specified when required.
What information is needed to assess whether the Box Loader fits my product?
To assess the right Box Loader configuration, Niverplast needs information about the product type, dimensions, shape, feed orientation, required capacity, packing pattern, number of tracks and box dimensions. This helps determine whether Bulk, Full, Demi or Half loading is the best fit.
