5 steps
How it works
Box or bucket infeed
The first box or bucket is placed in position 1.
Lifting and tare weight correction
The box or bucket will be lifted and afterwards the machine does a tare weight correction.
Start gross filling
In position 1, the machine starts by coarsely filling the box or bucket. Meanwhile another box or bucket is placed in position 2. This box or bucket follows the same steps.
Fine dosing
Once the required content is almost reached using the coarse dosing nozzle, the fine dosing nozzle takes over the filling process. Now, the box or bucket is supplemented till the precisely measured, accurate quantity is reached.
Correct weight reached
The first box or bucket has reached its correct weight. The box or bucket is discharged and a new box or bucket can be placed in position 1.

Frequently Asked Questions OLAF
The OLAF is designed for semi liquid products, meaning products that are not fully liquid but also not solid. Examples include margarine, coconut oil and cocoa butter. These products often require controlled temperature, stable pressure and consistent flow behaviour during filling, which is why the OLAF uses double walled product piping and can be equipped with a hot water system.
Yes, the OLAF can be used for products that solidify during or after filling, but the packaging and liner design become important. When a product hardens inside the box, any folded liner material can become trapped in the product, which may cause quality issues. For this reason, liner bags with a 45 degree bottom fold are advised, as they help keep the liner correctly positioned during filling.
The OLAF can fill both boxes and pails. For boxes, the machine can handle formats from 300 x 200 x 100 mm up to 420 x 300 x 350 mm, with a maximum C height of 500 mm. For pails, the supported diameter range is 200 to 300 mm, with a height range of 200 to 500 mm. The maximum filling weight is 30 kg. Other sizes may be possible on request.
The OLAF uses controlled weighing and filling, combined with stable product handling. The filling process includes lifting and tare weight correction, followed by gross filling and, where required, fine dosing. Accurate filling depends on keeping the product flow predictable. That is why temperature control, consistent pressure and homogeneous product characteristics are important.
The OLAF is one machine platform, but it can be configured in different layouts. Depending on the required capacity, available floor space and packaging flow, the machine can be arranged with two filling heads in a parallel layout, two filling heads in an in line layout or four filling heads in an in line layout. The output side can also be configured left hand or right hand.
The achievable capacity depends on product characteristics, filling weight, density, flow behaviour and temperature stability. As an indication, the OLAF can handle smaller filling weights at higher box per minute rates, while heavier fills require more filling time. For 2 head configurations, the documented range is approximately 5 to 11 boxes per minute. For a 4 head in line configuration, the documented range is approximately 11 to 18 boxes per minute, depending on the filling weight and product.
