Transporting chilled products requires a carefully engineered approach. For an e-grocery customer, one key question arose, how can orders be automatically equipped with ice packs to ensure products remain perfectly chilled during transport to the consumer? Team New Solutions developed a solution tailored exactly to this challenge.
Ice packs are automatically sorted from a collection bin, oriented in the correct direction, and fed separately onto the conveyor. Through precise handling, each unit is positioned accurately for further processing. Using vacuum grippers, the ice packs are lifted and placed into the crates in sets of three, controlled, consistent, and reliable. The crate lids are then positioned using the same technique, ensuring a stable and repeatable closing process.
