5 steps

How it works

Step 1

Box folding

The plano is taken from the plano store at long and short side with vacuum cups, positioned on a two-sided frame. This frame guarantees a fully square folding without friction between vacuum cup and plano.

Step 2

Bottom flap folding

While the box is in the squared position the bottom flaps are mechanically folded. After this, two side conveyors transport the box towards the bag inserting position where the bottom flaps are taped as well.

Step 3

Bag opening

During the box erecting cycle a prefabricated bag is picked up by a vacuum gripper. Thanks to the Easy Open system only one bag side is picked up while the other stays onto the bag store.

Step 4

Bag spreading

The spreading unit takes over the bag from the bag store. In a downward movement the two spreading plates place the bag tightly over the box corners.

Step 5

Bag inserting

While placing the bag, two folding bars move into the box to position the bag tightly in the box corners. In this way the amount of enclosed air between bag and box is minimized.

What is the difference between the CombiKIS and the CombiPlast?

The CombiKIS performs the same core functions as the CombiPlast: erecting boxes and inserting liner bags. The main difference is that the CombiKIS is designed as a simpler, more affordable solution with fewer options and a lower production capacity. This makes it ideal for companies with lower volumes or less variation.

What industries is the CombiKIS suitable for?

The CombiKIS is suitable for many bag-in-box applications, including bakery products, meat, seafood, fresh produce, frozen foods, powders and other food and non-food products. In practice, it is often used in production lines with low volume and low variation, such as specific moulding applications.

How many boxes can the CombiKIS process per minute?

The CombiKIS processes up to 6 boxes per minute, depending on the box dimensions, product application and packaging specifications.

Which box sizes can the CombiKIS handle?

The machine processes boxes with lengths from 350 to 620 mm (13.8 to 24.4 in), widths from 250 to 450 mm (9.8 to 17.7 in) and heights up to 500 mm (19.7 in) for the C-500 version or 650 mm (25.6 in) for the C-650 version.
