Counting products and creating batches with the SpeedBatcher

The SpeedBatcher is a camera counting system that counts and groups products into batches. This solution is applicable at the part of your production line, where the correct batches are prepared for packaging. The integrated 3D camera is equipped with laser triangulation, enabling it to register the passing products. By using the separating fingers, exactly the right number is allowed to pass through. Thanks to the use of the SpeedBatcher, we guarantee you optimal batching accuracy every time!

How it works

Step 1

Product infeed

After setting the right number of products per batch, the first products enter the Speed Batcher.

Step 2

Counting and calculating

The products pass the 3D camera and are counted. At the same time the camera measures the length and width of the products and saves these data.

Step 3

Smart batching

Because of our ‘smart separation’ algorithm, batches are then created very effectively. When a batch is ready, mechanical fingers appear from below to separate the batch. These mechanical fingers can be controlled very precisely.

Step 4

Batch separation

The mechanical fingers move down to enable the next batch to pass through.

What product sizes can the SpeedBatcher handle?

The SpeedBatcher can process products ranging from 30 mm to 600 mm in length. Product width starts at 30 mm and can be accommodated up to the conveyor channel width minus 20 mm. Depending on the selected conveyor type, products up to 160 mm high can be processed. This flexibility makes the system suitable for a wide range of bakery applications.

What is the maximum product height for the SpeedBatcher?

The maximum product height is 160 mm for both modular and fabric belt configurations. Minimum product height is 8 mm on modular belts and 12 mm on fabric belts.

How many product lanes can a SpeedBatcher process simultaneously?

The standard SpeedBatcher supports up to four product lanes across conveyor widths of 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1300 mm. Additional lane configurations may be possible following consultation with Niverplast engineering.

What conveyor speed does the SpeedBatcher operate at?

The standard conveyor speed is 30 metres per minute. This speed has been optimised to maintain accurate product detection, counting and batch formation while ensuring a continuous product flow to downstream packaging equipment.

How does the SpeedBatcher ensure accurate batch counting?

Every product is individually detected and tracked using a 3D camera system. Niverplast software continuously analyses product positions and automatically determines where batches begin and end. Mechanical fingers adjust product flow in real time to guarantee the correct number of products per batch.

Can the SpeedBatcher be integrated into an existing production line?

Yes. The SpeedBatcher is designed to integrate into existing bakery production lines. The main requirement is that the infeed and outfeed conveyor layouts comply with the specified conveyor conditions needed to maintain counting accuracy and batch integrity.

How is product guidance arranged inside the SpeedBatcher?

Products are guided through dedicated lanes using continuous HDPE food-grade guides. Standard guides are fixed, while foldable guides are available as an option. Non-proportional lane widths can also be configured for specific product requirements.
